Spring 2023 Newsletter

Hello to all our Shantalla residents and welcome to Spring.

Annual Party Thanks

It has been over six weeks since 140 of us sat down for lunch and a bit of a hoolie. We all really enjoyed the night, and we hope you did too.

We would like to thank everyone who helped and took part, including our marvellous musicians, all the helpers and runners – you are too numerous to list. We would especially like to thank everyone that donated spot prizes for the raffle, which is an invaluable and fun way to help cover the costs of the party. We would like to thank Fr Kevin, Mayor Higgins, and the various councillors for their attendance. We also would like to thank the staff and management at the Clybaun Hotel for their excellent and professional service.

Lastly, we would like to thank all of you for attending and make the day what it is – a celebration of community. We look forward to next year and hope that you do too!

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Hunt will take place again this year on April 9th, Easter Sunday at 12pm (hopefully outside this year!). Meet at St Joseph’s Community Center at 12pm.

Annual Spring Clean

The annual Spring Clean is back and will take place on Saturday 15th of April. Meet at St Joseph’s Community centre at 2pm and please bring your own litter picker if you have one.

We have been unlucky the last number of years, what with inclement weather and Covid leading to previous events having to be cancelled. This is a very important event that benefits the community, many hands make light work!

Men’s Shed is Back

The Men’s Shed is back open and fully functional. For further information contact Chairman Trevor Sherry at 086 2425269. All are very welcome.

Bike Week 2023

Our annual cycle around the streets of Shantalla will take place on May 21st. Meet at the Sliding Rock playground at 12pm. There will be tea, coffee, and snacks served after the event.
